KSGB sponsors, facilitates and organizes several types of programs in the community. We believe that education is key to the success and continued growth of our programs. Our success is not possible without the many partnerships that we have with community leaders, businesses and volunteer organizations.

KSGB Recycling Programs:
Annually we organize and host a variety of programs, including Recycle Your Cycles, Earth Day events, a Pharmaceutical Take-Back Day and a Household Hazardous Waste collection. These programs provide an opportunity for the community to properly recycle and/or dispose of unwanted waste materials. Participation in these programs continues to grow annually.
2017 Information (find more information on our website):
Recycle Your Cycles: 63 bikes were repaired and donated to people in need and 3,700 lbs of scrap metal and 420 lbs of tires was recycled
Earth Day: 16,000 pounds of paper was shredded and recycled and 1,000 pounds of cardboard was recycled
Pharmaceutical Take-Back: 3,800+ pounds of pills and sharps was disposed of properly
Household Hazardous Waste collection: 14,500+ pounds of paints, oils, batteries, chemicals, etc. was disposed of properly

KSGB Cleanup Programs:
We help keep our communities litter free through our Adopt-A-Spot mini grant program. The program not only focuses on beautification and litter prevention, but also supports between 12 and 15 organizations annually by providing mini grants for picking up litter along highways, pathways and other public spaces throughout the year. In 2017 the groups picked up approximately 3,650 pounds of litter.

KSGB Educational Programs:
Each year KSGB staff as well as staff from the NPNRD visit schools giving presentations on litter prevention, protection of water resources and recycling. We also regularly give presentations to service organizations and participate in community events.
