The Nebraska Panhandle Area Health Education Center (NP-AHEC) offers After School Adventure Camps, Nursing Camps, Continuing Education Opportunities, Health Professionals Clubs, Job Shadowing Experiences, and the Rural Health Opportunities Program (RHOP).
"During my two years at Chadron State College, AHEC was very supportive of the Rural Health Opportunities Program at CSC. They made it possible for the CSC RHOP students to travel to Scottsbluff, tour Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, and have lunch with the faculty and current students at the University of Nebraska Medical Center - College of Nursing once a year. This day is very beneficial for incoming nursing students as we can ask faculty and students what to expect in our upcoming years as a student. Without this day, I feel that students would come into nursing school feeling extremely overwhelmed and unprepared." MacKenzie Bowker, RHOP Student

"My organization relies heavily on AHEC to obtain and work with our local health professionals not only as classroom speakers but also medical industry tours.
AHEC also supports HOSA by coming into the classroom with mini-workshops such as injections and suturing. These small workshops help my students academically and help create an environment that they become interested in." Betty Anderson, Scottsbluff Health Education Instructor and HOSA Advisor
